Feingold & Dodd amendments to FISA bill failed

These amendments to the FISA bill would have postponed the decision about clearing telecoms retroactively of illegal spying they did on us, or outright excluded them from the bill.  If the bill passes as is, AT&T, Verizon, and Bush himself will be let off the hook for any spying they did illegally on us on his behalf.

How can the Senate be so gung-ho on this?  Seventy of their membership don’t even know the exact spying the telecoms did, because they haven’t been briefed on it!

Oklahoman by birth. Angeleno by fate. I've been in half a dozen bands and own 25 cubic feet of old records. Thank God for Ikea shelves.
