Welcome

Armine Iknadossian gets all angelic at A Rrose in a Prose tomorrow night!

The Rrose community must be doing something right, because amazing poets like Armine Iknadossian keep coming to perform for us!

Beirut-born, Southern California-raised Armine Iknadossian is the author of the chapbook United States of Love & Other Poems (2016). Armine’s poetry has most recently been published in Lullaby of Teeth: An Anthology of Southern California Poetry, Margie, Pearl, Rhino, Split This Rock, Alabama Literary Review, The Nervous Breakdown, Angels Flight Literary West and Entropy.

Her essays and music reviews also appear in Modern Drummer, TOM TOM Magazine, BRMC Official and Rekwired magazine. Which makes a lot of sense, seeing how punk rock she looks in this photo she sent us:

Armine has an MFA in Poetry from Antioch and has worked as a teacher, as assistant editor to Arianna Huffington, Robert Scheer and Molly Ivins, and most recently as bookstore manager of Beyond Baroque, the beloved Los Angeles literary institution (you know, the place where Exene Cervenka met John Doe, and Vampira used to read poetry).

From 2013-2015 Armine served as Writing Consultant for The Los Angeles Writing Project through CSULA. In the Spring of 2017, she was chosen as a Writer in the Schools for Red Hen Press. Armine is honored to be the new associate poetry editor of Angels Flight Literary West. She is also grateful that last month her poem “Ossuary” received honorable mention by the Jack Grapes Poetry Contest.
